There are a lot of awesome x-mas gifts or x-mas cheapies to be had out there! I made a small compilation (on my freebie-avatar) of my favourite hairs and skins that are either free or can be bought for 10 L in the current For the Love of ... Hunt. :)
Currently Gala Phoenix (Curio Skin) currently has set her group to open enrollment for free. I'd recommend to join it because I am relatively sure that she'll release a gift soon, too, and usually the group gets closed once the gift is released. :)
